In Venezuela we always talk about two sides: the government and the opposition, at war with each other. But that fight no longer solves anything.

The problems keep getting more complex, and they hit the ordinary citizen, their family, their community. And we forget something: the country does not fit into two sides.

There is a third group, and it is huge: the people who work. The ones who get up early, who produce, who know how to get things done. Ordinary people. All they want is for the country to work. That is us. A Country That Works gives them, at last, a voice.

And let us say it right away, because it is the first thing you think: we are not a party.

We have no candidates. We will not be on any ballot. A party seeks to win elections and govern, and that is legitimate and necessary. Ours is something else: that things work, whoever governs. The day we seek power, we stop being useful. That is why we do not seek it.

So what are we?

First of all, people who educate. Our first job is to explain things clearly, with the truth up front, no spin and no manipulation. A people that understands cannot be fooled, and a people that understands is free.

That is the heart of who we are: Education Defeats Indoctrination. We turn the complicated into something anyone can understand, so each person can weigh the facts and decide for themselves.

And everything we propose meets one standard: the facts, the law, and the citizen. That it is true, that it is legal, and that it is for the good of the people. If one is missing, we do not move forward.

Our ground

Choosing who governs is the job of the leaders and of the people’s vote. It is legitimate and necessary. Ours is different, and it runs alongside: that the country does not stop while that is decided.

We take care of what people really care about: that there is electricity, that the water comes, that the hospital treats you, that you can work and eat. The politics are decided by Venezuelans with their vote. We help make sure there is a country the day after.

And what do we bring?

The “how.” Ours is not talking, it is solving. How to get direct help to families with money that belongs to Venezuela. How to protect what is the country’s and use it to lift it back up. How to reach real elections, with clear dates.

These are not promises. They are plans already made that can be done.

And why trust us?

Look at our symbol. An araguaney, a turpial, some orchids. The tree, the bird, and the flower of Venezuela. They belong to no party. They belong to everyone.

That is our ground: the whole country, the one that belongs to us all. We are the Venezuela that works, united by the only thing that truly brings us together: Venezuela.

This is an invitation

To the political leaders, whatever side they are on: we need you, and we want you in. Put your leadership into this. And to all those people who know how, who work, and who want to help: join in too.

Each brings their part: we bring what is missing; they bring what only politics can give. We compete with no one. We add. We work with anyone, of any political leaning, because our bet is not on a side: it is on Venezuela and its people.

We do not want power.
We only want the country to work.

Venezuela is not made up of only two sides. There is also an entire country that works, that knows how to get things done, and that does not want power. It wants to help.
